Help installing a ceiling fan with a light where a light fixture was.
I just unboxed a ceiling fan that we bought from Lowes to discover a warning not to install the fan on a variable speed wall control. The plan was to install the fan on a Lutron light switch that has a variable speed control next to a toggle switch. I haven’t done much electrical so I thought I’d start here.
The fan model is Harbor Breeze Sail Stream #1133114
Can I still do this install? The fan comes with a remote control as well. Is there a way I can just leave the dimmer switch unconnected so that the dimmer switch still functions like a single-pole switch? If not, is anyone aware of any fan models that can run on a dimmer switch?
Edit: I think the switch I currently have installed is the DVSC-600P-SW
