Some advice needed from you AudioFrog gurus

Hey Guys/Gals,

I’m relatively new here on this forum, been lurking for about a year now. Great people and education here, unfortunate to see what is happening lately though but I digress.

So I finished my system build in September of this year. Car in question is a 2017 Honda Accord Sport Sedan.

The system consists of the following:

– OEM head unit (provides a clean, flat signal out before the OEM amp)
– Arc Audio xDi 1200.6
– Arc Audio PS8
– Tang Band 25-2176S tweeters
– NVX XSP 65 Mids/Midbass
– 1 Audio Frog GB12 D2 – sealed enclosure (1.25 cubic feet after driver displacement) firing towards the rear of the vehicle.

So after some driver break in time and some tuning, the system sounds very good.

Crossover specifics:

Tweeter: 2200Hz and up LR4
Mids: 75Hz to 2200Hz LR4
Sub: 65Hz and down LR4

So the ‘issue’ I am having with my system is a lack of impact. Now I am not here to ‘argue’ motor force as seen in another thread, lol; but rather just to get some advice and ideas. Some things to consider:

Previous system and car:

– 1999 Honda Accord Sedan
– Kenwood head unit (sorry forgot the model number, had decent processing capabilities built in)
– MQ Quarts 2-way components with passive crossover
– 1 15-inch custom FI Audio sub in sealed 2.5 cubic feet enclosure
– Same Arc Audio xDi 1200.6 amp

My old system had the ‘impact’ and got loud enough for me. Now I know we are talking about different cars, different transfer functions and also a 15 vs a 12. Another thing to consider is the FI Audio sub was rated for 450 watts rms. I am a bit confused about the AudioFrog GB sub; box says 500 watts rms but it also says 100 to 1000 in the range. The xDi 1200.6 sub channels bridged is good for 600 watts rms. On extreme bass songs, the amp will temporarily cut out at high volume levels so I have a feeling I am running out of power. I haven’t had the chance to check the lights on the amp or the voltage at the amp yet.

So what are your thoughts on getting some more impact with my setup? Forgot to mention that I prefer sealed enclosures as opposed to ported for car/mobile use.

Things I have considered:

– Get an xDi 1100.1 for the AF12
– Build a sealed enclosure for the FI 15 for my current car and see how that sounds
– Consider another sub with the xDi 1100.1, like the Adire Brahma or Tumult

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated.

**Btw, I have lots of pics of my install, will get em posted when I get some time to sort them out.
