How to finish subpanel feeder from LB penetration

I installed a subpanel in a new detached workshop, and over the weekend I dug a trench and dropped 1.5″ PVC conduit from my house down to the wall outside the subpanel, and then brought it through the wall with a 1.5″ LB. The feeder inside the conduit is 4 x #6 copper THWN. After doing online research, I am still not sure what should be done from the LB to the panel. The two top ideas in mind:

  • Splice to 6/3 NM-B and attach that to the studs; if I do this, can I do the splice in the LB body? It has a volume stamped in it, but I am unable to find a clear answer if this is to code.

  • Bring the THWN all the way into the panel within conduit; however, I am not sure how to make the 90 degree turn upward from the LB within the available space (this is a 2×4 stud bay).
