NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada Flintridge/Pasadena gave the media a very close — and very clean — look at its Spacecraft Assembly Facility “clean room” on Friday, Dec. 27.

The tour included a look at the Mars 2020 rover — NASA’s next spacecraft that will soon be bound for the red planet. The rover was built in the clean room, named because it particularly clear of particulate matter and other contaminants, and is being tested there now for its mission.
