Adventurous exercisers coming to Brooklyn

BKBX, a first-of-its-kind fitness brand bringing together elements of adventure sports with the latest in fitness and technology, will open a new training and recovery center in the high-end residential building 87 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Opening in the summer of 2020, BKBX Williamsburg will span three levels and a total of more than 32,000s/f including a rooftop terrace overlooking Manhattan and the East River.

This is the second location for BKBX following the success of its pilot location in Boston, which opened in early 2019.

Born out of Brooklyn Boulders, the  urban rock climbing facility that already occupies space in the building, BKBX offers circuit-training classes that blend adventure sports with new fitness formats and proprietary technologies.

The Williamsburg facility is designed to support group studio classes, self-guided fitness, yoga and restorative movement, spa-like recovery, cryotherapy, and a health-centric cafe all under one roof.

BKBX Williamsburg will feature a 2,000 s/f yoga studio with 22-foot ceilings that open up to a 35-foot-high vaulted skylight, while group fitness classes will be held across four studios totaling 8,700 s/f.

The property owners are Jay and Michael Weitzman.
