So I’ve got a Stanley No 181 Rabbit plane I picked up used (they stopped making this model in 1918).
I’m using it like a shoulder plane, so I don’t really care that it’s missing the depth stop and the screw that holds it on.
But I’d kind of like to get the screw, and maybe make a depth stop for it.
I’m not into it enough to buy an actual antique screw ($20-$25 on eBay).
And buying the screw _and_ depth stop is even worse.
The screw hole measures 3/16″ and I can almost get a #10-32 screw in there, but the threads are obviously wrong.
I spent some time image searching and zooming in with MSPaint and counting pixels.
I’m pretty sure it takes a #10 screw with 12 threads per inch.
I’m pretty sure they don’t have that at Home Depot.
Anybody know where I can get this screw for less than $20?
Ideally, I’d like a thumbscrew, but I’ll take what I can get.
