So, me and a buddy are living in this real old house for college, and long story short put some new ceiling fans in our rooms. Both the same (cheapo) fans that use a remote similar to this.

Basically at some point, one of the remotes got to where it controlled both of the fans/lights, and now we can’t figure out how to fix it. The rooms are right next to each other. The only pin on the remote is a “sync” pin. Whenever I try to go through the sync process, it always ends up in control of both fans. Any idea how to fix this? I’m not sure if I’ve tried shutting off one fan at the breaker, but I have seen this as a suggestion.
