Should Beggars’ Night always be on a Saturday? These cities think so
BONDURANT, Iowa — Multiple Iowa cities will hold Beggars’ Night this Saturday this year.
Bondurant, Windsor Heights, and Marshalltown are all holding Beggars’ Night on Saturday, October 26th instead of the day before Halloween.
Bondurant has been holding Beggars’ Night on the last Saturday of October since 2022.
Katie Klus, a Communications and Events Coordinator with the City of Bondurant, said there are many benefits to holding Beggars’ Night on Saturday, one of which is a stronger sense of community.
“It also really promotes a sense of community because people, of course, then don’t have to get up and go to work the next day. They don’t have sports that night with the kids, things like that. So they set up lawn chairs in their front yards and it becomes this whole block party slash community event, which is really amazing. And frankly, that’s what we want in our community,” Klus said.
Beggars’ Night will run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Bondurant.
