Pleasant Hill police request help identifying man found in Des Moines River

PLEASANT HILL, Iowa — The Pleasant Hill Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man whose body was found in the Des Moines River last week.

On August 15 at around 7:15 p.m. the Pleasant Hill Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a body found in the Des Moines River near the Vandalia Boat Ramp. The body was retrieved from the river that night and was identified as a white male.

Police said they’re working through missing persons reports in an attempt to identify the man, and they’re now requesting the public’s assistance.

The man is described as white and between the ages of 30 to 50-years-old. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and was likely under 150 lbs. Police said he would have been known to wear a band on his right wrist/hand.
