Name of teen killed in Marshall County ATV crash released
MARSHALL COUNTY, Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol has released the name of a 17-year-old who died in a crash between an ATV and a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in Marshall County.
A crash report from the ISP says Kehgun Borton, of Rhodes, passed away as a result of the collision.
The report says the crash happened around 2:29 p.m. near 320th Street and Canfield Avenue, southwest of Rhodes. According to the ISP, Borton was operating a Polaris 500 ATV heading west on 320th when he crossed the center of the roadway and struck a Chevy Silverado truck traveling eastbound on 320th.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says when its deputies arrived on the scene they found the teen unconscious on the road. Emergency responders administered CPR on the scene and he was transported to UnityPoint in Marshalltown where he later died.
The driver of the pickup truck, 41-year-old Jeremy Gukert of Rhodes, was not injured in the crash.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
