Waukee teen charged with second-degree murder in stabbing investigation
WAUKEE, Iowa — A 16-year-old accused of fatally stabbing an adult man last week has been officially charged with second degree murder the Waukee Police Department said Thursday.
At around 11:29 a.m. on August 5 the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing with a victim in the 600 block of Prairie Park Lane. When first responders arrived on scene they found 23-year-old Brian McGee suffering from stab wounds. McGee was transported to a hospital where he died later that day.
According to the police department, McGee was stabbed during a family dispute and that a 16-year-old had been arrested in connection to the stabbing.
On Thursday police announced that 16-year-old Jayden Delerme has been charged with second-degree murder. Delerme remains in the custody of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
