Boil order issued for Granger, Iowa DNR says

GRANGER, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a boil order has been issued for the city of Granger.

On Tuesday, the DNR said the order was issued due to a loss of water pressure at the city’s water towers. Work to refill the water towers and flush the system is underway.

Any water that will be consumed or used to prepare food should be boiled for at least two minutes and allowed to cool before being used. Water used for showering, doing laundry, or general washing is safe for use without boiling.

The DNR says the boil advisory will be lifted once two consecutive sets of samples test negative for bacteria.
