Samanea adds two home improvement retailers to LI mall roster
Samanea New York, the new retail, entertainment and dining destination located at 1500 Old Country Road in Westbury, New York, has signed two new tenants at its Westbury property.
My Planet Living Center and Arteco Cabinetry will both open their doors in the first quarter of 2022.
The 5,075 s/f My Planet Living Center will offer consumers a new showroom concept featuring high-end building and design products. Its partners include German Kitchen Center, the largest national multi-brand chain of European kitchens in the U.S., and the My Planet Construction System, which will provide consumers with new, energy-efficient home building options. The space will include café tables for guests and AV equipment for online showroom visits.
Through the Center’s not-for-profit organization, MyPlanet, a portion of all proceeds will benefit local nonprofits that help improve local communities. My Planet Living Center will be located on Samanea’s first floor entrance along Old Country Road. This will be the Center’s first Long Island location. Three other locations exist in Red Hook, Fort Lauderdale and Chicago.
The president of Arteco Cabinetry is Long Island architect Bill Ozen. The Samanea New York location will be the showroom’s first and will be located on the mall’s second floor. The 2,555 s/f showroom will feature high-end cabinet brands including as Fabuwood, Diamond and Mid-Continent. MSI Surfaces and Silestone Countertops will also be sold.
“My Plant Living Center and Arteco Cabinetry nicely round out our growing roster of home and lifestyle tenants,” said Dominic Coluccio, Chief Leasing & Development Officer, Samanea New York.
“The Long Island market has seen an incredible increase in home renovations, and naturally we are excited to bring two kitchen and bath showrooms to Samanea New York’s growing tenant roster,” said Matthew Kucker, Managing Director, Long Island, Colliers International.
Alongside his colleagues at property-owner Lesso Mall Development, Coluccio headed up lease negotiations for both new tenants, working with his brokerage team at Colliers International Jericho Office, including Herb Agin, Matthew Kucker and Jordan Baruch. Colliers represented both landlord and tenants in the transactions.
Located along one of Long Island’s most traveled retail corridors, the Long Island commercial property, formerly known as the “Fortunoff Mall at the Source,” spans over 750,000 s/f on 38 acres of land. Samanea New York recently underwent a $30 million redevelopment.
Brand-name tenants include Bloomingdale’s Furniture Outlet, which opened in 2020, and is the first anchor tenant to open on the property in almost 20 years, Dave & Buster’s, The Cheesecake Factory,Fortunoff Backyard Store, Frank & Camille’s West Pianos, Leon Banilivi Rugs, and Leonardo Furniture.
Samanea New York will also soon welcome 99 Ranch Supermarket, a leading Asian supermarket with over 50 locations across the U.S., with its first New York location in Fall, 2021; as well as Let’s Craft, X-Golf, MoCa Asian Bistro, K-Pot Korean BBQ, Szechuan restaurant, Empire Adventure Park.
