POLK COUNTY, Iowa — Law enforcement officials have released more details about a deadly shooting that happened on the north side of Des Moines Friday, including the name of the woman who was killed and the man who was critically injured.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting was the result of a domestic situation. Hamza Smajlovic and Jasmyne Robison, both 24, had recently ended their relationship. Jasmyne’s parents, 45-year-old Ruth Robison and 52-year-old Tony Robison, were at 245 NW 51st Place to help their daughter move out of Smajlovic’s residence on Friday.

The first calls about the shooting came in around 5:21 p.m. and a deputy arrived on scene at 5:24 p.m. Two victims were located, an adult female victim and an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They were transported to local hospitals. The PCSO said the female victim died at the hospital.

Officials have identified the woman who died as Ruth Robison. Tony Robison remains hospitalized in critical condition.
