Santa prepares for the holidays at Bass Pro Shop
ALTOONA, Iowa — As the holidays approach those who want to get their wish list to the North Pole have the opportunity to chat with Santa at Bass Pro Shop.
Santa made his grand entrance on a TRACKER boat and kicked off Santa’s Wonderland Saturday afternoon. After the parade there was a tree lighting ceremony in the store and treats were handed out by the Salvation Army.
Santa’s Wonderland is a free experience where families can enjoy games, take part in giveaways, and partake in fun activities. On Saturday, the first families to arrive received kids’ reindeer glasses.
Some of the items available during the weekday giveaways are 3D Christmas tree lights, wooden ornaments, and bass cookie cutters.
Throughout November and December there are Special Santa Sighting events. Kids will have the opportunity to read Christmas tales with Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy a Yuletide breakfast.
Starting on Sunday, November 3 families can make a reservation to receive a free photo with Santa. Available dates will continue to open on a rolling basis seven days in advance. Reservations can be made on their website.
