Iowa State Patrol investigating suspicious parcel found at Lucas Building
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol is investigating after a suspicious parcel was found at the Lucas State Office Building on Monday.
At about 11 a.m. the Iowa State Patrol responded to the building at 321 East 12th Street on a report of a suspicious parcel. According to the ISP, the building was evacuated as the Des Moines Fire Department’s Hazmat team was called to the scene.
The hazmat team tested the parcel and determined it didn’t pose any danger to the public, the ISP said. The office building was reopened.
An investigation surrounding the parcel is ongoing.
