DM Police make arrest in weekend south side fatal shooting investigation
DES MOINES, IOWA — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder after a fatal shooting over the weekend on the south side of Des Moines.
The shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the 3400 block of South Union Street. According to police, Martavius Green was involved in a physical fight at a home in the area. Police say a 21-year-old man, whose name hasn’t been released, intervened in the fight and was shot and killed by Green.
Green, an Atlanta, Georgia native, is being held in the Polk County Jail without bond.
