DES MOINES, Iowa — A man was seriously injured in a shooting on Des Moines’ northeast side on Wednesday.

At around 1:20 p.m. the Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of shooting victim near the intersection of Arthur Avenue and Hubbell Avenue. According to a DMPD post on X, the adult male victim was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Police said a firearm was recovered at the scene and that there is no indication of any ongoing danger to the public.

Hubbell Avenue will be temporarily closed from Guthrie Avenue to East 29th Street while law enforcement investigates the scene.
