1 hospitalized, 1 in custody in Waukee stabbing

WAUKEE, Iowa — The Waukee Police Department is investigating after a man was stabbed during a family fight Monday morning.
Chief Chad McCluskey said the call came in at 11:29 a.m. about a stabbing at a home in the 600 block of Southeast Prairie Park Lane and officers responded within a minute. They found a victim in his early 20s who had been stabbed and was transported to a metro hospital by Waukee Fire medics. Chief McCluskey said he did not know how many times the man had been stabbed or his condition.
A suspect in the incident was detained away from the residence.
The investigation into what led up to the stabbing is still active and police continue to interview witnesses.
Chief McCluskey said there was no danger to the public from the incident.
