Authorities identify teen killed, two injured in Warren County crash

WARREN COUNTY, Iowa — A week after a crash involving teenagers led to Carlisle Community School District canceling baseball and softball games last week.

15-year-old Hanna Shaffer was named by the Iowa State Patrol as the teen who died in the accident after being airlifted to a Des Moines hospital. The other two teens are Payton Clark and Harley Hill. The condition of both are unknown at this time, both were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The crash happened last Sunday night between Carlisle and Hartford. According to Iowa State Patrol, the three were heading north on 200th Avenue when the driver lost control and went into the ditch.

The car overturned and vaulted over a driveway. Authorities said that two of the three teens were thrown from the car.

Memorial services have been set for Shaffer. Services are tomorrow evening with the visitation at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. With the funeral service taking place at 10 a.m. at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. The Carlisle Community School District has canceled school activities for tomorrow evening.
