2 people found dead in Marshall County home, homicide investigation launched

MARSHALL COUNTY, Iowa — A homicide investigation is underway after Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies discovered two people dead during a welfare check at a home north of Marshalltown Friday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 2600 block of 182nd Street around 1:45 p.m. to conduct a welfare check. When they arrived, they found a male and a female deceased.

The MCSO said no evidence was found that suggests a threat to the public from the incident.

The names of the deceased are not being released until family members can be notified.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the case. If you have any information about the incident you’re asked to call the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office at 641-754-6380.
