Unfortunately you can also make them sickeningly bright white and glaring, put them on 30 foot metal poles and place them unshielded every 30 yds on neighborhood streets. if you are driving up a hill this is made worse. i walk at night. exercise but also just enjoying the nocturnal.Since this latest round of more poles and brighter(UNSHIELDED) streetlights on the streets and in the parks I need to wear a hat and amber blue blockers just to walk a couple miles and not get a migraine. These lights turn the nightime street vibe into a wallmart/football field mood. I understand the need for street lighting. Does the city not understand the importance of aesthetics? Of being able to look up at night and see the moon without being hit with a cold white square glare? Unshielded streetlights are soul sucking abominations.
