We should always take a moment and give a proper amount of respect and brave journalists who currently and throughout history have unmeasurably risked in honor of their responsibility to inform the public about things that matter. What pisses me off, is when the spirit of those journalists is so callously disrespected by those who label themselves with the moniker now. Too many of today’s writers across the industry have become too lazy and too scared to measurably deliver anything of productive relevance to the benefit of the public. Of course, there are noted exceptions, but too few and far between. It speaks to where we are in history. It appears more journalists believe they can make their career by placating their respective “allied interests” more than surfacing uncomfortable truths about those who hold elected and unelected positions of power within our communities. Anyone can already look through the modern record and see key chunks of the puzzle that writers actively avoided acknowledging. Make no mistake, these gymnastic expositions are nothing less than works of art that are, for better or worse, true to their authors’ realities. Your writings expose every inch of you. I guess what I’m trying to say, is when history looks back on your record, as it already can, no one will think you were stupid, there is plenty of evidence of your intellect and smarts. They’ll simply think you were corrupt cowards.
