Help with stub out on new bathtub/shower valve
Hi All, I am replacing this Pfister valve body for the bathtub/shower and have a question. I am using pex fittings and tubing for the hot and cold water connections, and up to the shower head. I think I have that figured out after a lot of YouTube videos. My question is, for the connection to the tub spout is it acceptable to use a pex fitting connected to the 90 degree elbow, then connect a straight piece of copper pipe to that, and lastly use a slip on tub spout to the copper pipe? You can see at the bottom of this photo, the elbow, then pex connector, and here is where I want to just put a piece of 1/2″ copper, then tub spout. It is a 90 degree elbow, just looks off because of the camera angle. Will that work do you think? One more question, if I use a threaded nipple connected to the elbow instead of pex/copper, would that be better, and would a standard tub spout that screws on fit that? Thanks so much everyone! submitted by /u/mwasiewski |
