I get how social media works, from the tech side and the behavioural side, and I get that most reporting comes from blogger pools nowdays and I totally understand how, from the online perspective ideas are pushed to the polar extremes, and yet: I feel I don’t really know if the average American’s sensibilities have really changed over the last decade.
I guess throughout history ‘controlling the narrative’ was a tool for the ruling and political elite, but it as trickled down as a necessity to the average person in the average office, at least in the American businesses I work with. People withholding information and highlighting that which supports their ‘truth’. Its weird this seems more common during a time of the internet of democratic information.
