Good morning!

My grandfather and I are working on a cabin, and before we put up the interior siding we wanted to replace a side door that is a tad short. This is the Existing Door and we are going to be installing one that’s taller. Is this just as simple as extending the framing upwards? This wall I believe is load bearing so we were quite unsure how to proceed. Is it the case that we can safely build up the frame and then remove the existing supports?
