Listen to the Mercury’s Winter 2020 Playlist: 100+ Songs to Soundtrack Your Hibernation
The obstacles we face in winter—frigid weather paired with that pesky SAD (aka Seasonal Affective Disorder)—no-doubt makes it more difficult to want to leave the house, spend money on transport, venture into a crowded building, where you’ll likely be lured into spending even more money you don’t have on drinks just to catch some live music. And while many local artists will expect to see their door sales suffer slightly from decreased nightlife traffic in the next couple months, this time of year provides a perfect opportunity to increase the amount of time we spend streaming music.
Speaking of which: In 2020, in place of our monthly curated playlists, the Mercury will create a new playlist for each season (Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall) that reflects our latest coverage, and will continue to be updated as we publish new issues.
This first one—with more than 100 songs by artists from Parisalexa and Wynne to Møtrik and Michael Kiwanuka—should get you started.
