Bruce Willis Finally Sells His New York Country Estate for $7.66M
Bruce Willis has finally found a buyer for his Westchester County mansion. The home has reportedly sold for $7.66 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. It’s currently listed as “off market” on realtor.com®.
The “Die Hard” star’s four-home compound in Bedford Corners, NY, was placed on the market at the beginning of 2019.
As the year drew to a close, Willis was finally able to sell the property—but for 41% less than the original asking price, according to the Journal.
The film star and his wife, Emma Heming, originally listed the New York country estate for $12.95 million. The motivated sellers lowered the asking price to $11.9 million in March and reduced it further in June. Then the couple slashed the price again to $7.5 million in August 2019, and reduced the acreage of the original offer.
The remaining 8.2 acres with three guesthouses were available for an extra $1,895,000. The property was purchased in December 2019 for the lower $7.66 million, without the extra acreage and guesthouses.
The actor reportedly paid around $9 million for the property in 2014. The recent transaction is reportedly one of the highest home sales that was recorded in Westchester County in 2019, but it still represents a bit of a loss for the star of “Glass.”
However, it’s one less mortgage to keep up with. The couple relocated to the West Coast at the beginning of 2019, but the actor hasn’t given up on the East Coast entirely. In 2018, he picked up a condo in a posh building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The gorgeous country house is certainly a win for the new owner. Built in 2009, the luxury residence offers panoramic views of the Croton Reservoir and beyond. It’s located just 40 minutes from midtown Manhattan. The property features a 9,000-square-foot main house, with five bedrooms, plenty of space for entertaining, a playroom, a media room, and a spacious wine cellar. The gated estate also features formal landscaping, a vegetable garden, a saltwater pool, a tennis court, and poolhouse.
