crawlspace encapsulation
Thinking about getting my crawlspace encapsulated. Had a contractor come out and they wanted $10k to do it. I looked into it and the process seems annoying, but straightforward. I figure I can do this myself in a weekend for a few hundred bucks. But I checked some youtube videos explaining the process, and the comments on every single video are flooded with contractors warning that “it’s much more complicated than you think”, “don’t try this yourself, hire a professional!”, etc. So am I missing something, or is this just a giant fucking racket right now with people charging an arm and a leg for uncomfortable but otherwise simple and unskilled labor?
