Martinez mayor allegedly assaulted by man known to frequent city council meetings
Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder was assaulted Wednesday afternoon in front of his insurance business.
“I’m OK. Just a bit shook, but I’m fine,” Schroder told The Martinez News-Gazette, which first reported the story.
Martinez Police Department officers responded to 653 Main St. at 3:21 p.m., on a report of the mayor being accosted by a male subject, later identified as Eli Dominguez from Martinez, according to a statement from MPD Lt. Mike Estanol.
