I have a folding utility table (the white plastic ones) that I have been thinking of modifying into a light, transportable work bench or router table. I have only seen videos of folks making them strictly out of wood…actually nearly all DIY working surface videos seem to be wood, and I was wondering if it is a good idea or not. They sell the plastic work tables for over 3x the cost, I wonder why I have not come across any DIY mods for utility tables. Are there are any DIY builds that modify a utility table that anyone can post?
