I bought a home and during reno I discovered that the fireplace did not have any flue installed from the firebox up. Im putting a new metal roof on and would like to finish it while i have to roof off because i personally like wood burning fireplaces. I think i have the basics down but my main concern is what type of exhaust to put through the roof and if it could be just metal or do i need to brick or rock it? Also best way to seal it off from leaks?
