I redid my stairs

First time posting here, been lingering a while. This is the first project that I have bothered to take photos during the process, so I figured I would share it here.

My wife told me that she wanted our stairs redone for her Christmas present. I didn’t get a picture of the stairs beforehand. I did get one after she removed both edges of the old, stained, stinky carpet.

I did this for right about $300, there are 15 steps. I used 2×12 kiln dried southern yellow pine construction lumber for the treads and 1×8 boards for the risers, with the exception of the very top riser, it is 1/4 plywood.

There weren’t any specialty tools involved. The tools I used were; a table saw, circular saw, random orbit hand sander, i made a stair jig with scrap materials, impact driver, prybars and hammer for demo. Let me know what y’all think

This project took about 2 months start to finish between 3 jobs and also dealing with a tree falling and totaling 2 cars in our driveway. I am not a carpenter, I am a mechanic by trade but love a good challenge and enjoy some light woodworking.
