We have clear (translucent) PEX water lines in our unfinished basement. I’m guessing the light from the windows has caused the algae growth. We are on well water and were wondering if there is a way to sanitize/clean these pipes ourselves? Once they are clean I’m going to insulate or wrap any clear lines to prevent future growth. It’s most notable in our cold water lines. I’m guessing this is from the hot water lines sanitizing on its own.
