we live in a rental but need to secure this so we can set up some sort of baby gate that attaches to the banister and to the wall. I don’t want to do any major work And I don’t want to have to do any major cosmetic repairs if possible. The issue is that if you push on the railing it goes back and forth probably a couple of inches. Nothing appears very loose at the bottom.
