Looking to make a knife for the first time. A bit of info, I don’t have access to a forage or a belt grinder (looking to get an affordable, entry-level one). What I do have an oxyacetylene torch, a propane torch (I use for controlled fires to clear brush, pretty hefty and gets pretty hot and I know I can get the material hot enough to start the hardening process; I have an angle grinder and some cut off wheels, plenty of sand paper, and wet stones for days. I dont mean to make a loaded request but I’m also wondering what kind steel I should get. If you got this far thank you so much for reading and any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
