All in all, I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome. I had some pretty janky budget tools. I wish I had: table saw, drill press, miter saw. Instead, I had to make do with a circular saw and handheld joiner. The joiner was actually really powerful in fixing small cutting errors. It was able to correct errors as big as 1/4 in. Joining from the middle of a board was also quite good. It’ll show an obvious gouge, but subsequent passes from the joiner (on a lower setting) will smooth that out. I was able to use that method to correct a cut where one side was wide by 1/32 in and the other side wide by 1/4 in, by taking off 1/24 from the middle of the board to the ends.
