Patching sheathing and siding after wood rot – do gaps in OSB sheathing need to be sealed?
One repaired the wood and getting putting up OSB sheathing but not sure how to proceed exactly. House was built in the 80s and the sheathing is some kind of composite/dense cardboardy type stuff. That was all rotted out so I’ve replaced with OSB. I have some gaps that are maybe 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch. How well should this be sealed? Behind the sheathing and insulation there is plastic wrap (not really house wrap it’s sort of loose) covering the drywall.
All advice appreciated.
