Howdy!

My friends and I are building a motorized couch (electric motor). We have some questions about what to do with power. We want to have a high power supply and convert it down to the voltage of the motors. The motors operate off of a 48V power supply, so we were looking at 60V to 48V buck converters. (We’re locked into a 60V power supply.) This comes with two questions:

Does anyone know of any 60-48 V bucks out right?

Would it be unsafe to buck it down to 12 and then boost it back to 48? 60-12 V bucks and 12-48 boosts are much easier to find than a strict 60-48 V.

Edit: The motors take around 1kW (between 20-30 A at 48V). This has been the main restriction to our search.
