Factory audio integration – high end DSP or FiX8* & dayton DSP

hello everyone.

my problem as it stands is I cannot get a good clean signal from my factory headunit. I am in a 2019 subaru impreza without any HK or RF factory upgrades. currently I am running the four high level channels (front, rear) into the dsp directly, and as far as I can tell there is all sorts of audio processing going on. example, when I pass thru ch.1&2 (front which was a 6×9 with a tweeter crossed over in the dash) on the dsp it sounds way different than if I were to pass the full range of ch.1-4 or even just ch.3-4.

so to circumvent this problem I was just using my phone straight to DSP with 3.5mm to RCA, this sounds great! however I cannot use android auto or any of the other creature comforts of a new car.

Now my question is regarding an upgrade path and if it is possible to correct in the first place.

will the JL FiX82/86 “Fix” the problems i have stated above? if so would Fix82/Dayton DSP be a good combo?

or

would it be a wiser decision to save the FiX money to go into a nicer DSP such as the Helix? would a Helix be able to perform all of the same functions as the FiX+dayton? most importantly the factory audio summing/correction

or am I at a loss until I replace the whole headunit?

thanks!
-Jefferson

p.s. should I xpost to CAJ? 😀
