Independence County businessman sentenced to probation for failure to pay taxes
An Independence County trucking company co-owner who pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect or pay federal income taxes in federal court last February was sentenced Tuesday to three years probation for the offense by a federal judge who told him but for his efforts to pay restitution before sentencing, he would likely have been sent to prison.
