Midtown Tampa takes center stage at a 5 star Elite Event.
The Yelp Elite Squad took a stroll through Midtown Tampa on the first breezy evening of Tampa “fall”. Guests mingled, oohed and awed all night long. Dinner was presented by Tampa Bay’s first Shake Shack.
“Our hosts paraded out the new lineup of Black Truffle menu items, starting with the Parmesan Garlic Fries with Black Truffle Sauce. Talk about rich robust French Fry! Then we were given the Black Truffle Burger generously slathered in more of that real deal Black Truffle Sauce, topped with gruyere cheese and crispy fried shallots. ” -Rachel L.
Guests were then given the choice between Shake Shack’s new Milk Bar Chocolate Birthday Cake Shake and Cornflake Shake. Both could be made with or without chocolate depending on preference.
Elites were already grinning ear to ear when it was time to mosey on up to Sal Y Mar for the grand finale. One elevator and 7 floors later the Elite Squad entered a bohemian paradise atop the city of Tampa. Complete with swings, a swanky pool, and sangria. The drinks were flowing almost as much as the conversation.
Dozens of Instagram tags, Yelp reviews, and photos later, we are still reflecting on how special this night was. We are eager to watch Shake Shack and Sal Y Mar thrive in Midtown. The Yelp Elite Squad is grateful for this once in a lifetime Yelp Elite Event. To read more of these rave reviews check out Yelp.
I already miss this magical spot and all my supah fresh new Yelp friends.
Discover Shake Shack and Sal Y Mar
Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in New York City to raise funds for a public art project. Years later their mission feels as tangible as ever in the spirit of their staff. We want to thank The GM, Dana, and the entire team at Shake Shack Midtown for delivering incredible food and service. You can indulge in their new Black Truffle Burger and fries in store now! There is also time to catch the Milk Bar Shakes.

Sal Y Mar was inspired by the town of Tulum; the dreamy bar is perfected with a menu inspired by Latin cuisine and designed by Executive Chef, Stephanie Bisogne. The 360-degree views of the Tampa, Westshore, and St. Petersburg skylines are the perfect backdrop for Ivan Puente’s dynamic cocktail program. A heartfelt thank you to the Aloft Tampa Midtown Hotel and Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar team for taking the Squad on vacation without leaving home
