Police: Bridgeport man charged with murder that took place earlier this month
BRIDGEPORT — A city man was charged with the murder of Jonathan DaSilva Thursday evening, according to the Bridgeport Police Department.
Detective Robert Winkler obtained an arrest warrant for Robert Sorrells, 27, on Thursday, charging the Bridgeport man with fatally shooting DaSilva earlier this month outside of the VIP Lounge on Pembroke Street, police said.
Sorrells was taken into custody around 5 p.m. He was charged with murder, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle.
Sorrells is being held in lieu of $2 million bond and is scheduled to be seen in court Friday.
