Eastman Cooke back in drivers seat at new Jaguar dealership
Eastman Cooke & Associates has resumed work on a 100,000 s/f combination Jaguar and Land Rover dealership at 809 Neptune Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn, following an extended pandemic-related hiatus.
Concurrently, the firm has recently broken ground on a multi-purpose site for the luxury automobile brands at 70 Cedar Swamp Road in Glen Cove, Long Island, comprising an approximately 40,000 s/f service center and 40,000 s/f sales office and showroom.
Both venues will also introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to accommodate new models of electric and hybrid Jaguars and Land Rovers.
“Each of these projects has entailed great flexibility in order to adapt to changing requirements, such as accommodations for the new electric-powered vehicles, along with revised building designs,” said Peter Morandi, Eastman Cooke, CEO, LEED AP.
“We are delighted to have the Brooklyn project restarted, as we had completed the pre-construction project development, including a test pile program, saving our client close to $1 million in construction costs. Utilizing our ‘Pre Job Planning’ process, we were able to complete the deep foundations and structural steel erection without missing a beat.”
To expedite the construction of the two sites, projected to be completed in 2022, Eastman Cooke is implementing its proprietary Work Smart System. The program entails a series of collaborative, step-by-step protocols led by the firm’s project managers, estimators, and field staff.
The current Jaguar/Land Rover sites represent the third and fourth dealership projects Eastman Cooke has implemented on behalf of owner’s representative The Eagleton Kathe Company. The two earlier projects encompassed an Audi dealership in Queens and a Mercedes Benz dealership in Brooklyn.
For all these projects, Eastman Cooke has provided expert value engineering and design assist to ensure all requirements are delivered to the client’s satisfaction.
