Online furniture retailer joins Industry City design roster

Industry City—owned by Belvedere Capital, Jamestown, and Angelo Gordon & Co.—has announced that ZZ Driggs, a Public Benefit Corporation, and the first online platform offering exceptional & sustainably-made furniture for rent or purchase, has joined Industry City’s Brooklyn Design District, a collective of more than 130 architects, designers, and design retailers that operate out of the six million-square-foot, 16-building creative campus on the Brooklyn waterfront.

ZZ is the first of its kind — a values-driven brand dedicated to educating and inspiring its customers with acclaimed contemporary and collectible furniture, all available for rent or purchase, and sourced from top designers and manufacturers across the country. ZZ Driggs is also two-time Webby Award nominated and lauded in the press by Vogue, Architectural Digest, Domino, Forbes, and more following its NYC launch in 2020.

ZZ Driggs, which sources all of its works from designers and fabricators using ethical and environmentally-sound practices to minimize waste and discarded furniture, will occupy 7,000 square feet of space at Industry City for its office and warehousing functions.

“ZZ Driggs was looking for a clean, bright warehouse space to store its high-end furniture inventory and also house some of its offices,” said Kathe Kramer Chase, Director of Leasing for Industry City. “At the same time, the company cared immensely about the employee experience – its new home needed to be easily accessible and highly amenitized. With 24/7 security, food and beverage options, acres of landscaped outdoor space, and a short walk from the subway, Industry City checked the boxes.”

In addition to its direct-to-consumer practice, ZZ Driggs also works with select commercial clients across the country, outfitting some of the most iconic brands, locales, and productions—such as Virgin Hyperloop One, Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center, lululemon, Microsoft, and many more—with renowned names in American-made furniture and design.

“We are thrilled to join the Industry City community which supports craftsmanship, ingenuity, and industry-changing business models like ours,” says Whitney Frances Falk, founder of ZZ Driggs.  “The IC team continues to be readily available to support our growth and offer creative and complementary solutions for ZZ’s needs. Not only are they novel yet invaluable thought partners for a company like ours, but they are simply good people who recognize the value of creating a hub for emerging design businesses. We are excited to house ZZ here at IC in order to bring more ethically-made furniture into more American homes, and their partnership from the onset makes it possible.”

The strategic redevelopment of Industry City—launched in 2013 by Belvedere Capital and Jamestown—has generated significant leasing activity and job creation. Over the past six years, Industry City has invested over $450 million into the property and leased more than 3 million square feet of space.
