Coronavirus in Connecticut: Which parks, beaches are open, closed?

Which state and local parks are open and closed during the cornonavirus pandemic?

Here’s an update.

State Parks and forests

Connecticut has 110 state parks and 32 state forests.

Only two state parks – Kent Falls in Kent and Seaside in Wallingford – are closed because of challenges visitors face with maintaining appropriate social distancing.

Parking is free in state parks to anyone in a Connecticut-registered vehicle.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has taken measures to limit the number of visitors. When a parks’ parking has reached its capacity, the park is closed to new visitors.

There are four Connecticut state parks on Long Island Sound that have public beaches- Sherwood Island in Westport, Silver Sands in Milford, Hammonasset in Madison and Rocky Neck in East Lyme.
