Why are comments a thing?

First, why are comments a thing. In general and specifically on I, Anonymous. When I’m done ranting and raving or confessing about something, why would I want to hear from some random moron with some friendly advice or worse, someone telling me to f*ck off? Second, it’s kind of funny that you can’t be fully anonymous when you comment. You have to sign up for an account. Weird.
