UWS conversion is now move-in ready
Development and architecture firm Tamarkin Co., in partnership with CL Investment Group, has announced that closings are nearly underway at 555 West End Avenue, the landmarked Beaux Arts school they have converted into 13 one-of-a-kind homes. Ready for initial occupancy, the Upper West Side condominium building’s lobby and amenity spaces, including the fitness center and residents’ lounge, have been recently completed.
Originally constructed in 1908, 555 West End Avenue’s residences include penthouses and townhomes with a private entrance on West End Avenue. The homes feature 12 to 20-foot ceilings and classic architectural details. No more than two residences grace each floor.
Features of the homes include eat-in kitchens with a library ladder to access the floor-to-ceiling cabinets and a butler’s pantry for even more storage space. Custom pocket doors allow the kitchen to be separated from the dining and living area, or opened up into one large space for entertaining. The building’s amenities include a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, stroller valet, residents’ lounge, recreation room with pool table, and additional cold storage and bike storage.
Pricing for current availability begins at $7.9 million for a four-bedroom, 4.5-bath flat. Sotheby’s International Realty and Compass Development are the co-exclusive sales and marketing firms for the project, with Cathy Taub and Alexa Lambert leading sales.

Leasing launched at LIC rental building
Leasing has launched at luxury rental building Crescent Iron House, adding 23 homes to the Dutch Kills neighborhood in Long Island City. Queens-based brokerage Modern Spaces is exclusively handling marketing and leasing for the building, where studio to two-bedroom units range from $2,300 to $4,500 a month.
In LIC’s rental market, the average overall price for rentals has risen by $689 since 2010, with an increase of $14 per s/f, according to Modern Spaces’ 10-year market report.
Amenities include a terrace with 360 degree views of the city, balconies in select units, a game room, a fitness room, and a dog shower. There are also on-site parking spaces and storage units for rent.
Located at 25-08 40th Avenue, this five-story development includes two ground-floor retail units. The project is being developed by Crescent Owners LLC. Designed by T.F. Cusanelli & Filletti Architects, Crescent Iron House features a red-brick façade balanced with ashburn stucco. Apartments will range from 355 to 838 s/f.

First look inside West Chelea’s Jardim
Jardim, the first U.S. residential development by Isay Weinfeld, the Brazilian architect and interior designer known for his hotels and high-end homes, has opened near the High Line in Manhattan’s West Chelsea neighborhood.
Developers Centaur Properties and Greyscale Development Group have released images of the building’s interiors — including a residence furnished by Weinfeld himself.
Jardim is the Portuguese word for garden and true to its name, this is a plant-filled property with a private, multi-level urban park that envelops the two 11-story towers that comprise the development. A brick-vaulted private tunnel connects West 27th and 28th Streets, leading to views of the garden’s greenery through a latticed wall in the lobby.
The development includes 36 residences ranging from one-to-four bedrooms and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and terraces. Amenities include an indoor pool, as well as a fitness center and movement studio; men’s and women’s steam rooms and saunas; a children’s playroom, and parking. Douglas Elliman is marketing the property.

Private arcade coming to TriBeCa tower
Fisher Brothers, Witkoff and New Valley, developers of the glass residential tower 111 Murray Street in TriBeCa, have unveiled its club level amenities suite, marking the completion of the 20,000 s/f of amenity space designed by David Rockwell. Offerings include a Turkish hammam and 75-foot lap pool and an entertainment suite with a vintage arcade room. Other amenities include a private dining room, demonstration kitchen and patisserie, 25-foot-wide children’s splash pool and water wall activation, spa with private treatment rooms, saunas, a fitness center with separate movement studio, private Drybar salon and a children’s playroom outfitted with a Rockwell Group Imagination Playground.
Located between Greenwich and West streets, 111 Murray Street consists of 157 residences with city and river views.
Homes range from $2 million for a one-bedroom home to $40 million for a full-floor penthouse.
